exquisit dinner

part of the great things of being single and living in the city are flexibility and mobility. at 6:45 pm i biked over fresh fields on P street for my first ever vegetarian cooking class. i met a friend and at 7pm the show began. we were handed 6 recipes, three of which were with tofu.
my past experience with tofu was bland. so i grumbled but not for too long. the first recipe was light and yummy. my appetite opened up. by the time the third came along i was in love with tofu with life with me.
my favourite course was the Asian tofu. a great blend of citrus, mint, ginger, sesame seeds, scallion, fresh red pepper and sauteed pieces of tofu in sesame oil. at the end, we were all well served, well fed and delighted it was freeeeeeee.
how can something so bland be so exquisite? indeed the ingredients are key. but not all. there was passion, dedication, and hard work for the most part that transformed the tasteless into gourmet. what if life is tofu? no meaning no flavor. what we add to it reflects its taste. if it's so we can all transform the dull into exquisite memorable experience.

please share your moments of such transformation.

I think too much

i spend a huge amount of time thinking. i think how best to tell a story, design a a poster, strike great conversations, etc..... So strategy/perfection is the name of my game. it's strategic perfection. nonsense. today while i killed un-estimated minutes and thousand of neurons, pressing projects are still left unfinished: design of a stop aggression poster, an art/design exhibit/fundraiser, my website, overdue correspondence and a healthy meal.
Here is a statement I made earlier today:
".........This existentialist query enabled me for few hours to reevaluate my duties and aspirations as a communicator, designer and intellectual being. It really means breaking away from the bubble of automated survival and obsessive strategy, to fully enjoy the process of discovery, observation, analysis, discourse and finally to contribute to life."

I am on. Stay tuned.
